Clubbing Age in Seville: The 16, 18 and 21 Rules Explained

In Andalusia, nightclubs and music bars may not admit anyone under 16, and each venue can require 18; only youth venues admit ages 14 to 17 (Decree 155/2018, Catalogue). In Seville, Spain almost every club publishes 18+, and some nights go up to 21+.

What the law says

The decree is Andalusia's Catalogue of Public Entertainment, Recreational Activities and Public Venues (BOJA no. 150, 3 August 2018, juntadeandalucia.es/boja/2018/150/13). The law is Law 13/1999 of 15 December on Public Entertainment and Recreational Activities of Andalusia (BOJA no. 152, 31 December 1999, juntadeandalucia.es/boja/1999/152/1). Both apply in the city of Seville and across the region.

16 by law, 18 in practice

The legal floor is 16, but the decree lets the owner make 18 a condition of entry, and that is what Seville's clubs do. OCCO's website says entry is for over-18s only, its university nights on Thursdays and Fridays are 18+, and Antique Theatro, Uthopia, Discoteca Abril and Vizzio are listed as 18+. Monasterio, in the Alameda, is 18+ and recommends being over 20.

Age by club and by night

Why some nights are 21+

A 21+ or 23+ rule is not in the decree: it is the club's own condition for that party, usually on big nights. Discoteca Abril, normally 18+, makes its Halloween Saturday 21+; Kafka's Halloween at Malandar is 21+; Antique Theatro recommends 23+ for its Halloween; and Alfonso by Casino, on Paseo de las Delicias, is 21+ in its winter season. Under-18s: youth venues and afternoon parties

The decree has a specific category for teenagers, establecimientos de esparcimiento para menores: only ages 14 to 17 may enter, no alcohol or tobacco may be sold, served or displayed, and they close at midnight. Some adult clubs also run separate afternoon sessions for younger people; in October 2026 Discoteca Abril held one for 14+ on Saturday 24 October, from 18:00, and it sold out. Outside those sessions, every club night in this guide is 18+ or older.

Alcohol and minors

Even where a 16- or 17-year-old can legally be inside, they cannot drink: Law 13/1999 lists allowing minors to drink alcohol or smoke as a serious offence for the venue. That is one reason clubs prefer a flat 18+ policy.

Students, terraces and pubs

University nights are not an exception: OCCO's student Thursdays and Fridays are 18+, and so is Discoteca Abril's university Halloween on Thursday 29 October 2026. The summer terraces apply their own rule too: Rosso by Antique, in the Cartuja, says entry for minors is completely forbidden, and Alfonso by Casino asks for 21+. Pubs and bars with music follow the same legal rule as clubs (no under-16s, 18+ if the owner decides), while ordinary bars and restaurants are not covered by these two epigraphs of the Catalogue.

So when you plan a night, think of age at three levels: the law (16), the club's general rule (almost always 18) and the party itself, which can go up to 21 or 23, or have a separate 14+ afternoon session. The ticket page of each party is where that last level appears, and it is the one the door applies.
