What Time Do Clubs Close in Seville? Legal Opening Hours Explained
· Updated:
In Seville, Spain, clubs may stay open until 06:00, and until 07:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before a public holiday; music bars and pubs until 03:00 (04:00 on those nights), under the Junta de AndalucÃa's Decree 155/2018. The rule is the same in every Andalusian town, and the city council can only extend it on specific dates.
The decree was published in BOJA no. 150 on 3 August 2018 (juntadeandalucia.es/boja/2018/150/13) and its later amendment, Decree 251/2023, did not touch the opening-hours articles. Some websites still quote an order from 2002: it was repealed by this decree.
Legal closing times in Seville (article 17)
| Type of venue (decree's term) | Sun–Thu | Fri, Sat and nights before a holiday |
|---|---|---|
| Nightclubs and dance halls (establecimientos de esparcimiento) | 06:00 | 07:00 |
| Music bars and pubs (especiales de hostelerÃa con música) | 03:00 | 04:00 |
| Bars and restaurants, with or without background music | 02:00 | 03:00 |
| Youth venues for ages 14–17 (esparcimiento para menores) | 00:00 | 01:00 |
The extra hour of article 17.2 depends on the day the venue opens: a club that opens on Saturday night may close at 07:00 on Sunday morning. It also applies to the night before any public holiday, so in 2026 Sunday 1 November counts, because Monday 2 November is a holiday in Andalusia.
When they can open (article 18)
No public venue may open before 06:00, and nightclubs and music bars may not open before 12:00 noon. That is why there are afternoon sessions (tardeos) but no morning clubs: the law rules out the classic after-hours.
Bars follow the same logic. A bar with background music is still an ordinary bar for the decree, so it closes at 02:00 (03:00 at weekends); only venues licensed as bars with music can stay open until 03:00 or 04:00, and article 20.2 bars them from switching on their sound equipment before 12:00. When a bar near you shuts at 02:00 and a pub next door at 03:00, that is usually the reason: they hold different licences.
Terraces: the 02:00 rule (article 22)
A bar or restaurant terrace keeps the hours set by the city council, never later than the venue's own, and service may not go past 02:00; the terrace must then be cleared within 30 minutes. Seville's open-air summer clubs by the river are a different matter: how each one is licensed is not public, so we only give the hours they publish. Alfonso by Casino, for example, advertised 23:00 to 04:00 on Friday 23 October and 23:00 to 03:00 on Saturday 24 October 2026.
Christmas, Holy Week and festivities (article 23)
The city council may extend closing times exceptionally for local festivities, Holy Week (Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday) and Christmas (22 December to 6 January), by two hours at most and, for festivities, for no more than 20 days a year. The legal basis is article 6.7 of Andalusia's Law 13/1999 on public entertainment. Each extension needs its own municipal resolution: on 21 October 2026 Seville had not published one for this Christmas.
Even without an extension, some dates already get the extra hour because they are the night before a holiday: 31 December 2026 (1 January is a holiday), and in 2027 the nights before Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, public holidays in Andalusia on 25 and 26 March. Holy Week 2027 runs from Palm Sunday, 21 March, to Easter Sunday, 28 March, which is the window in which the council could add up to two more hours.
Fairs, open-air events and clearing out
- Municipal fairs and verbenas: hours set freely by the city council; private ones close at 02:00 at the latest (article 19).
- Open-air events outside a venue: never later than 02:00, and no extra weekend hour (article 20).
- At closing time the music goes off, nothing more is served, nobody else gets in, the lights come on, and the venue must be empty 30 minutes later (article 21).
What Seville's clubs actually publish
| Club | Published hours (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|
| Antique Theatro | 00:00–07:00 on Fridays and Saturdays |
| Discoteca Abril | Fri 23/10 00:00–06:45; Sun 25/10 (La Misa) 23:00–05:00 |
| OCCO | Thu–Sat 23:00–06:00 |
| Lobby Club | Fri–Sat 23:00–06:00 |
| Groucho | Fri–Sat 23:00–07:00 |
| KOKO and Itaca | Every night from 23:00 |
| Pandora | Sun 1/11 (night before a holiday) 18:00–06:30 |
Published hours are a maximum, not a promise: English-language travel guides note that clubs are quiet before 02:00, and many nights wind down before the legal limit. The latest regular nights we found outside the city are Elysium's Vinyl Series in Alcalá de GuadaÃra, advertised from 23:00 to 07:00 on Saturday 14 November.

Frequently asked questions
What time do clubs close in Seville?
At 06:00 at the latest, and at 07:00 when they open on a Friday, Saturday or the night before a public holiday. That is article 17 of Andalusia's Decree 155/2018, which applies in Seville and the rest of the region.
And bars and pubs?
Bars with music (establecimientos especiales de hostelerÃa con música) close at 03:00, or 04:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before a holiday. Ordinary bars and restaurants, with or without background music, close at 02:00, or 03:00 on those nights.
How late can terraces stay open in Andalusia?
Terrace service may not go beyond 02:00 and the terrace must be cleared within 30 minutes (article 22). How Seville's open-air summer clubs are licensed is not public, so we only give the hours each one publishes.
Do clubs close later at Christmas, Holy Week or the Feria?
They can. Article 23 lets the city council extend closing by up to two hours at Christmas (22 December to 6 January), Holy Week and local festivities, for up to 20 days a year. Seville had not published its 2026 Christmas extension by 21 October.
Are there legal after-hours clubs in Seville?
Not as a separate category: no venue may open before 06:00, and nightclubs and music bars not before 12:00 (article 18). We have not found any after-hours venue in Seville advertising later hours than the general rule allows.
