Antique Theatro Seville: What the Cartuja Club in the Old Expo 92 Pavilion Is Like

Antique Theatro is a club of more than 2,500 m² built on the old Olympic Pavilion of Expo 92, on Isla de la Cartuja in Seville, Spain. It opens Thursday to Sunday for over-18s, with electronic music, reggaeton, pop and house, and its 2026-27 season started on 16 October.

The building: an Expo 92 pavilion next to Isla Mágica

The club's own website says it sits on the foundations of the old Olympic Pavilion from the 1992 World Expo, with more than 2,500 m² of floor and a 25-year history; it also claims over 250,000 people a year. A 2023 city guide places it next to Isla Mágica, 'relatively far from the historic centre', and recalls that it has hosted after-parties for the Davis Cup, the Goya film awards and UEFA finals. The web mentions a full refurbishment with a more modern look, without giving a year. In practice that means a big room, several bars and VIP areas, the kind of place you go to for a full night rather than a quick drink.

The season and what the week looks like

Antique works as the winter club of the site. Its Instagram bio reads 'open Thursday to Sunday', and the 2026-27 season opened on 16 October. The agenda for the last week of October gives an idea of the rhythm: 'Disloque' on Thursday 22, 'Friday by Antique' on the 23rd, a Saturday from midnight to 07:00 and a 'Black Party' on Sunday 25 from 23:00. For Halloween, Saturday 31 October, it announced 'Tortura' from 00:00 to 07:00, at €25 with a drink and booths from €800. The Erasmus agendas also chose Antique for their opening party on Friday 23 October, so expect an international crowd some Fridays.

Music, age and dress code

Nightlife directories describe the music as electronic, reggaeton, pop and house, with resident DJs; another listing calls it commercial, 'premium reggaeton' and house. The minimum age is 18, and for big nights it can go up: the Halloween party recommended over-23s. The dress guideline is 'smart', which directories spell out as 'a modern, well-kept look', and the Halloween listing asked for people to come 'dressed up'. A shirt or a smart top, long trousers or a dress and proper shoes is the safe option; sportswear is the usual reason people get turned away at big clubs in Seville.

Antique and Rosso: what's the difference

They share the site and the team, but they are two different nights. Rosso by Antique is the open-air summer terrace: in 2026 it opened on Friday 22 May, ran every night of the week and said goodbye around 11 October with 'see you next summer'. Antique is the indoor club that takes over from mid-October. If you're coming between late May and early October, the party is probably at Rosso; the rest of the year, at Antique. Dates for 2027 haven't been announced.

Getting home from the Cartuja

Antique is outside the old town, so plan the way back before you go. Metro line 1 runs until 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and TUSSAM's night buses (A1 to A8) leave from Prado de San Sebastián until 05:00 on those nights, which doesn't help much if you leave at 07:00: most people end up taking a taxi. Andalusian rules let clubs stay open until 06:00, and until 07:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before a public holiday. Entry starts at around €12 in October 2026, depending on the night.
