Bars and Pubs in Seville for a Night Out: Where to Drink Before the Club
· Updated:
In Seville, Spain music pubs and bars can stay open until 03:00, or 04:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before a holiday, under Andalusia's Decree 155/2018; the main areas for drinks are the Alameda de Hércules, the Alfalfa, El Arenal and Plaza Nueva, Calle Betis in Triana and Nervión.
A Seville night usually has a bar stage before the club: English-language travel guides warn that clubs are empty before 02:00. And sometimes the bar is the whole plan: a few drinks with music, a band or karaoke, and home before the club crowd arrives. This guide covers the places with music or a DJ that we could check with a source, area by area. For the clubs themselves, see our guide to the best clubs in Seville.
Quick answer: how late each type of venue can open
| Type of venue | Closing time | Fri, Sat and nights before holidays | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bar or restaurant, with or without background music | 02:00 | 03:00 | Decree 155/2018, art. 17.1 and 17.2 |
| Music pub or bar (establecimiento especial de hostelería con música) | 03:00 | 04:00 | Art. 17.1 and 17.2 |
| Club or dance hall | 06:00 | 07:00 | Art. 17.1 and 17.2 |
| Bar terrace | Service until 02:00 at the latest | No extra hour | Art. 22 |
| Earliest opening for music pubs and clubs | 12:00 | 12:00 | Art. 18 |
One practical consequence: if a place in this guide advertises closing at 06:00 or 07:00, it's running on club hours, not pub hours. And at closing time the music goes off and the venue has to be empty within 30 minutes (article 21), so last orders come a little earlier.
The Alameda de Hércules: live music, karaoke and the LGBTQ+ scene
The Alameda is the most alternative area for drinks, and the centre of Seville's LGBTQ+ nightlife. At number 61, Fun Club has been a concert hall and club since 1987: it has gigs almost every day (from €3 to €20) and, when there's no concert, it works as a club with tickets at the door. At number 47, Alameda 47 is a rooftop bar and club with live karaoke, tardeo and a night session. On Calle Trajano 38, Pride B4R is a gay bar open 365 days a year from 22:00 with shows from Thursday to Saturday. When the bars close, the Alameda has its own clubs a few streets away: Holiday by Obbio (Calle Jesús del Gran Poder 73), with pop, 80s and 90s remixes and drag; Itaca (Calle Amor de Dios 31), open every day from 23:00 with shows on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; and Monasterio (Calle Amor de Dios 18), in an 18th-century palace house, Thursday to Sunday, which recommends being over 20.

The centre: Plaza Nueva, the Setas and Cuesta del Rosario
In the old town, O'Clock, at Calle Méndez Núñez 17 by the Plaza Nueva, has been around since 2012 and is easy to spot thanks to the big clock on its façade; it sits halfway between a cocktail bar and a club. Under the Setas, at Plaza de la Encarnación 38, KOKO opens every day of the year from 23:00, with anything from reggaeton to electronic music. For live music in the afternoon, Tequila Bar, at Cuesta del Rosario 12, has tardeos from 17:00 with flamenco fusion on Fridays and pop-rock on Saturdays. And for a flamenco and rumba night that goes on late, La Piconera, at Calle Julio César 3, opens on Thursdays and Fridays from 23:30 to 07:30.

Drinks that turn into a night: Groucho and Lobby
Two more places in the centre start as drinks and end as a night out. Groucho, at Calle Federico Sánchez Bedoya 20, is in its nineteenth season and opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 23:00 to 07:00. Lobby Club, at Calle Reyes Católicos 23 in El Arenal, opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 23:00 to 06:00; entry is free until it's full, at the door's discretion, and the dress code is casual chic, with no sportswear, trainers or shorts.

The Alfalfa, Calle Betis and Nervión
The Alfalfa, in the old town, and Calle Betis, along the river in Triana, are the two areas students mention most for bar-hopping, together with the Alameda and Nervión, according to their reviews. English-language travel guides describe Calle Betis as busy until around 03:00. We don't list individual bars there yet because we haven't been able to check them with a source; we'll add them as we do. In Nervión, the rock option is Long Rock, on Calle Blanco White, with live music, which celebrated its 13th anniversary in October 2026. And if you're further out, Mala Uva in Dos Hermanas mixes drinks and a dance floor: Puro Jaleo on Fridays, D'Tardeo on Saturday afternoons and Malauva Nights on Saturday nights.

Drinks with a view: the river and the rooftops
Two more options if you want the setting to matter. By the river, on the Paseo and Muelle de las Delicias, Muelle New York and Terraza Chile open every day of the year and Iguana Terraza has DJs on Sunday evenings. Remember that on a bar terrace service ends at 02:00 at the latest. Up high, Seville's rooftops are mostly hotel cocktail bars: Level 5th at the Hotel Ribera de Triana (Plaza de Chapina 3) opens Monday to Thursday from 17:00 to 02:00 and Friday to Sunday from 16:00 to 03:00; Ático Sevilla opens from 14:00; Pura Vida Terraza, at the Hotel Fontecruz Los Seises, has had an acoustic flamenco series since September 2026; and Terraza del Soho has live music on Thursdays and Sundays. Our rooftops guide has the full list.
